Paper Saving Programmes
In order to make better use of resources, HAESL has reviewed what could be improved in our daily operation to create less harm to the environment. We launched the double-sided printing of working documents back in 2014 and have developed projects to make good use of electronic forms to reduce paper. The consumption of paper products has been greatly reduced as a result of these initiatives.
Energy Saving Programmes
HAESL puts great effort into reducing the energy consumed in building management and have invested in energy-efficient equipment. HAESL has replaced old lighting and invested in LED lighting systems to achieve a lower carbon footprint. We look to seize every opportunity in optimizing the performance of air conditioning systems to continuously reduce our energy consumption.
Waste Management
In support of the waste generated by our operations, we have adopted waste separation at source and recycle wherever possible. We have adopted a ‘Go Look See’ initiative to identify improvement opportunities. In addition to the recycling of plastic, paper and metal, we have introduced food waste recycling and wood waste recycling in recent years. To promote these policies roadshows and briefings are arranged to strengthen the practice of recycling.
Caring for the Environment
HAESL supports environmental initiatives by participating in activities such as coastal clean-up, removal of invasive plants and tree planting. We arrange book and eyeglasses collection and donation of wall calendars to the elderly.
